לפני חמישה ימים השקנו את ™MyHeritage In Color, יישום אוטומטי לצביעת תמונות בשחור לבן המניב תוצאות יוצאות דופן. אנו שמחים שניתנה לנו ההזדמנות לעבוד יחד עם ג'ייסון אנטיק ודנה קלי מ-DeOldify, שפיתחו את הטכנולוגיה עליה מבוסס היישום החדש. התגובות ברשת עד כה נהדרות, ואם לשפוט על פיהן, היישום הוא הצלחה אדירה. בחמשת הימים הראשוני נצבעו יותר ממיליון תמונות, והמספרים ממשיכים לעלות!

בלוג אחר התייחס גם הוא ליישום החדש. "היא עדיין בליבי… זוהי אימי והגרסה הצבעונית דומה לה מאוד. נשימתי נעתקה. איזה הבדל… וזה כל כך קל לשימוש… האפשרויות אינסופיות והתוצאות מדהימות. בקצב שאני מעלה תמונות נראה שלא אספיק לסיים שום עבודה שעליי לעשות. אילו תמונות מן העבר אתם יכולים להחיות באמצעות צביעתן? איזו מתנה נהדרת, אם לא למישהו אחר אז לעצמכם. נסו את היישום! תודה רבה רבה ל-MyHeritage!!!!!!"
בבלוג שלרוב מקדיש את עצמו לגנטיקה גנאולוגית כתבו כי "MyHeritage השיקו כעת יישום חדש ומרגש שנקרא ™MyHeritage In Color. הם מאפשרים לצבוע אוטומטית תמונות משחור לבן! זה מהיר, קל והכי טוב – אתם יכולים לנסות את זה בחינם".
"כולם מנסים ומדברים על כלי הצביעה החדש לתמונות שהושק לאחרונה על ידי MyHeritage", נכתב בבלוג קשרים משפחתיים. "הכלי מפיח חיים בסיפור המשפחתי שלכם באמצעות צביעת גרסת השחור לבן המקורית. מעולם לא הבנתי כמה אני דומה לסבתא רבתא שלי עד שלא ניסיתי את הכלי, פשוט כי הדבר לא היה ניכר לעין בשחור לבן. תהליך הצביעה עשוי להאיר פרטים שלא היכרתם. התמונות הצבעוניות פשוט מדגישות דברים שלרוב מפספסים בשחור לבן. בני משפחה שלי שמעולם לא התעניינו בעבר המשפחתי שלנו מתעניינים לפתע ושואלים שאלות על האנשים בתמונות הצבעוניות. סיבה זו, לבדה, היא מספיק טובה כדי להתנסות בכלי החדש".
באחד הניוזלטרים כתב העורך: "ניסיתי הבוקר את כלי הצביעה והתרגשתי. הדבר מאפשר לעשות הרבה יותר מאשר סתם להסתכל על תמונות ישנות. כעת ניתן לחוות אותן, ליצור קשר עמוק יותר עם ההיסטוריה המשפחתית, הרבה יותר ממה שחשבתי שאפשר. אני מתכוון להשתמש בכלי הצביעה על כל אחת מהתמונות הישנות בשחור לבן שיש לי". כותב אתר אחר העיד על עצמו כי התרשם מהקלות שבשימוש ביישום החדש. "יכולתי להישאר ער כל הלילה רק כדי לצבוע את כל התמונות המשפחתיות שלי. איזה תמונות אתם מתכוונים לצבוע?".
"כשמגיע קרדיט אז מגיע", נכתב באתר נוסף. "למעט מקרים חריגים, הצבעים שמתקבלים מדוייקים ביותר, ונראה שזה עובד על כל גווני העור הקיימים. השימוש קל, פשוט ומהיר. עבור אלה מאיתנו עם חשבונות MyHeritage זהו מקור בלתי מוגבל של כיף, לפחות עד שייגמרו לנו תמונות השחור לבן לשחק איתן. MyHeritage הפכו את הכלי הזה למגניב ממש. תודה!".
מנהל בלוג אחר סיפר על החוויה האישית שלו. "נהניתי לא מעט עם הכלי החדש של MyHeritage המאפשר לצבוע תמונות משחור לבן. הכלי הזה לא רק כיפי, הוא ממכר! כמו שאפשר לראות, הגרסה הצבעונית נראית מעט מלאכותית בכמה נקודות, אבל אם לשפוט על פי התגובה הרגשית שעולה בי, אני לא חושב שזה משנה בכלל. יש משהו קסום בלצפות בתמונת בגרסאות צבעוניות של תמונות שחור לבן (גם אם הצבעים לא 100% מדוייקים), מכיוון שאנו חיים בעולם צבעוני. כשהראיתי כמה מהתמונות לאחי הצעיר הוא אמר שיש בהן משהו שמזכיר את ההפקות הגדולות שצבעו סרטים ישנים שצולמו בשחור לבן ממלחמת העולם השנייה. כלומר, מחד התמונות הצבעוניות נראות כל כך רעננות וקרובות אלינו, ומאידך הן עדיין משרות אווירה היסטוריות. הלוואי ש"צעצועים" כאלה למחקר היסטוריה משפחתית יצאו על בסיס יומיומי. כל הכבוד MyHeritage!".
"לא ייאמן!", נכתב בפוסט אחר. "גלשו לעמוד הייעודי ב-MyHeritage כדי להשתמש ביישום החדש והמדהים הזה, פשוט העלו תמונה והאתר יצבע אותה עבורכם. רק מילת אזהרה אחת… ברגע שתתחילו לא תוכלו להפסיק. אתם תמשיכו לנסות למצוא תמונות אחרות שתרצו לראות בצבע. לא תפסיקו לשחק בזה!". בדומה לכך, במקום נוסף כתב מישהו: "תמיד אהבתי לראות תמונות צבעוניות ממלחמת האזרחים וממלחמת העולם השנייה. הצבע גורם לאנשים ולמקומות להיראות אמיתיים יותר. אני זוכר שתמיד חשבתי לעצמי 'וואו, הלוואי שהיתה לי האפשרות לצבוע תמונות ישנות שלי'. כעת אני יכול".
בלוגר אחר שהשווה בין היישום החדש לבין כלים אחרים הקיימים ברשת קבע כי הכלי של MyHeritage איכותי יותר. "ניסיתי כלי צביעה אחרים, ואני חושב שהיישום הזה הוא הקל ביותר לשימוש מכולם, והוא ומפיק תוצאות מהירות יותר". בדומה אליו כתב בלוגר אחר כי "ברור שתהליך הצבעיה תלוי באיכות התמונות המקוריות בשחור לבן, וכי ייתכנו שגיאות האלגוריתם "קובע" מה היה צבעם של חפצים שונים באמצעות גוונים המופיעים בתמונה. על כן, בהתחשב בתהליך עצמו ובמגבלות, אני חושב שהכלי עושה עבודה טובה! תודה ל-MyHeritage על השקת יישום הצביעה האוטומטי החדש והנפלא הזה. התמונות כעת נראות אמיתיות הרבה יותר מהשחור לבן".
